Our Beginnings

Ironically our beginnings were rooted in more traditional senior living services. It was through the process of founding a home care agency, serving as Executive Director and Director of Marketing over two senior living communities and as Project Manager for the development of two senior living properties that our thinking began to change. The simple fact is that people prefer to remain in the dwelling they recognize as being home. Regardless of how much we invested or how beautiful our properties were, the majority of residents moved in against their will, and generally at the bidding of caring adult children who were faced with no alternative.

This dilemma, combined with a compassionate desire to meet the needs of people the way they wanted them met, changed our philosophy. Our humble beginnings were rooted in one simple thought; if people prefer to remain in their own home, why can't we bring all of the amenities of retirement living right to their front door?

The result is an association with a membership of retirees who choose to live independently. We simply listen to their needs and tailor make a safe, affordable service plan, bringing what they need, when they need it into the place they call home.

Because our services are so comprehensive the majority of our members are no longer faced with the trauma of one day having to move into a retirement community.

How Traumatic Is It for Retirees to Be Faced with Having to Move into an Assisted Living or Nursing Home?

We regard this as one of the top five most traumatic events in a retiree's life. Most would agree that the day we close the door to the home we've lived in for so many years and turn over our lives to be scheduled by someone else will be extremely difficult. Does this sound familiar?

"My husband passed away a few years ago. We lived in our home for forty years. This is where we raised our children. There are marks on the wall where we measured their growth. It is difficult for me to drive anymore; particularly at night. My children are concerned and have talked with me about moving into a retirement home. This is not what I want. I want to stay in my home."
